Press Secretary Sean Spicer canceled a planned, on-camera briefing and held a private briefing inside his office that was open to only certain reporters.

Police operatives have arrested three crew members and detained a marine vessel, Jazzi, found with 800,000 litres of adulterated diesel in Lagos.

Two of the men, Isiaka Jimoh and Dauda Hassan, who allegedly gang-raped two secondary school students of ages 12 and 13 with others still at large, were was on Thursday brought before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Jimoh, 18, and Hassan, 21, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and defilement.

Libya: We Drank Urine - Nigerian Returnees Laments
No fewer than 171 Nigerians voluntarily returned from Libya on Tuesday aboard a chartered Nouvelair aircraft with registration number TS-1NB.
The aircraft landed about 4.18pm at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

MMM Investor Who Lost N750k And Drank Insecticide Is Dead
A MMM investor, identified as Ada Kole has died. The late Kole, died in Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory after drinking insecticide following the crash of the MMM scheme.
The young man, whose wedding was rescheduled from December last year to May, 2017 reportedly died on Monday night following complications arising from the poison he took late last year.
Kole had reportedly invested about N750,000 in the scheme in November last year and was expecting to get his 30 per cent income when the MMM crashed and he lost his money.

58-Year Old Shoemaker Rapes 14-Year Old Neighbour
A 58-year-old cobbler, Emmanuel Onmah, who allegedly raped a teenage girl, was on Monday released on N250,000 bail on the orders of an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Akanni, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused two sureties in like sum.
She directed that the case file should be duplicated and a copy sent to the office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Corp Members Will No Longer Be Sent To Troubled Areas - NYSC
The Zamfara State Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps, Hajiya Rahmatu Sanda, says NYSC will not send corps members to “troubled areas” in the state.
Sanda said in Gusau that one of the major concerns of the NYSC was to protect corps members.
She said,
“We don’t send corps members to those areas with security implications. We only send them to those areas where there is no security challenge.”
Baby Making Factory Busted In Jos, Plateau State
Thirteen persons have been arrested in Jos the Plateau State capital for allegedly operating a baby factory along old Bukuru park following a tip-off by a victim of the syndicate.
Those arrested included nine males and four females, including a pregnant woman and another woman clutching a toddler. The arrest which was made by men of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) followed information from one Happiness John who became a victim of the suspects.
OPSH Commander, Major General Rogers Nicholas said while parading the suspects at Sector 2 of the taskforce that the group had a ready market for the sale of infants in Abuja and Lafiya in Nasarawa State.

37-year-old Chioma Ochemba, a commercial sex worker in Ayobo area of Lagos, took away her daughter, a seven-year-old girl as she threatened to kill the girl on Monday.
Ochemba, an Imo State indigene, shocked her neighbours after she smashed a wood on the girl’s head, inflicting an injury that covered the child in blood, after accusing her of losing a N100 slippers she had bought for her the previous day.
One of her neighbours, Mr. Busari Tajudeen, said he was forced to intervene when Ochemba angrily grabbed the girl by the neck and hit her with a piece of wood.
Tajudeen promptly dragged the girl away from her and took the child to the Ayobo Police Division where a policewoman rushed her to the hospital for treatment.
The girl was later treated and kept at the police station afterwards but the mother was nowhere to be found.

UK deports 83 Nigerians
Among those to be deported were residents whose documents had expired and prisoners whose terms of imprisonment were nearing completion, Punch reports.
The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, South-West Zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, said the deportees were expected to be in the country at 5am.
